Utah Goodbyes aren’t Forever – My hiking journey

Utah Goodbyes aren’t Forever – My hiking journey

Hey everyone ! Back here to talk about my most recent major hikes in Zion National Park which were the famous Angels Landing and the Narrows. That’s right kids you heard right! Made it to the beautiful state of Utah.

“Overall, my the experience there will be unforgettable and the whole fondness of it all makes you realize why it’s all worth the trip in the first place.”

So for starters, I want to say… it is IMPOSSIBLE to get lost. With that being said it’s definitely a very touristy place to go. A lot of people everywhere you go, not a whole lot of privacy. Overall, my the experience there will be unforgettable and the whole fondness of it all makes you realize why it’s all worth the trip in the first place.

Upon arrival we didn’t have plan on what to do if there “weren’t” any campsites, and thought we would make it there in time to get a campsite… but BOY!… WERE WE WRONG! We ended up playing 30 dollars which is a week pass in the national park and then realized we couldn’t camp there but we ended up lucking out as a fellow ranger named Logan Clark gave us a free campsite area which apparently was located outside the park a little ways away. BUT, to our surprise worked out perfectly and it was the perfect temperature too!

“Not only was it peaceful but it was so beautiful.”

Because we lucked out camping here because we ended up not paying a dime for this campsite, and to be quite honest this view beat camping in a crowed area in Zion any day. Not only was it peaceful but it was so beautiful. This place is called the Kolob Reservoir which is located on the left side of Zion national park about 40 minutes away. The only downside to it was the 40 minutes away part so we only stayed the night, but well worth it and highly recommend especially if your on a budget !!

Utah -Waiting for bus to take us into Zion – Hiking

Also the fact that we ended up going into park with my car and payed for a week pass worked out, because it ended up being cheaper that way. So what we did after was we ended up finding parking outside the national park (which is a pain, BELIEVE ME) and then walked to the local bus that enters the park all day and it’s FREE. Just remember to flash the ticket that you got when you first entered the park in your car. I think it covers up to 4 people per car, and per person it’s 15 each if you didn’t pay entering with car which is more expensive in the long run. The bus was such a big help dropping us off at all the prime locations.

The Narrows, Utah -Zion – Hiking

“The water was definitely cold and crystal clear, the narrows is a definite must to do in Zion, its a very enchanting hike.”

As for the hikes we did in Zion, we only did a short preview of The Narrows, but did complete Angels Landing. For The Narrows what we all noticed is you need some type of water proof gear for your cameras. The water was definitely cold and crystal clear, the narrows is a definite must to do in Zion, its a very enchanting hike. I highly recommend the walking stick for balance and even maybe the shoes they have if you don’t do well in the cold. (Plenty of gear is available before doing the narrows at the park entrance.) Because that water is PRETTY DARN COLD!

“Not only did it challenge you physically but mentally as well.”

As for Angels Landing well…that hike was definitely one of the funnest hikes I’ve ever done. Not only did it challenge you physically but mentally as well. The hike itself is only 2.5 miles up and same coming down. Going up is the hard part going down you get back in less then half the time done. We started around one thirty and finished around four thirty all in all about a three hour hike also with a lot of breaks in between.

For starters I recommend some good hiking shoes, why? Because super soft sand that’s why! After hiking a pretty steep while, is when the real fun begins, if you think your tired right before you start the chain area… THINK AGAIN! It tests your health, mind, and your soul…

“It tests your health, mind, and your soul…”

I recommend a lot of water… because it will be exhausting, there are many others doing the hike as well so there are many times where you will have to pause for other’s to pass through and visa versa. Make sure to hold on the chain as recommended and don’t forget to take LOTS OF PHOTOS. Once you reach the top, you remember why you did in the first place, FOR YOU. Because in the end you will know this accomplishment was for you to know how far you can really test your limits. Special thanks to the two amazing humans LESLIE and RED for taking the time out of their lives and joining me on this journey.
